Welcome
to My Fact Page
I hope that the following information will be
helpful.
Heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems have been shown to act as a collection source for a variety of contaminants that have the potential to affect health, such as mold, fungi, bacteria, and very small particles of dust. The removal of such contaminants from the HVAC systems and home should be considered as one component in an over all plan.
The results of our DUN-RITE VAC system leave your ductwork pristine and free of all of those irritants, pollens and dust. Your family will be breathing easier and you will notice less sick days around your home and especially in your business.
FYI: It is estimated that poor air quality directly results, on a annual basis, one billion in medical costs and $60 billion in employee sick leave and lost production.
What We Do ...
A powerful suction is applied to your furnace and duct work by extending a large hose from our Power Vacuum truck. All ducts are individually cleaned using compressed air, and/or other special tools as needed to remove dust, dirt, and other
debris. If removable, your furnaces blower fan is removed and cleaned.
If you have central air conditioning, an access door and cover may be installed to access the cooling coil, which will not work properly if it is not kept clean. This must be done with great care since the cooling coils are rather fragile. The heat exchanger is also cleaned. Perhaps the most important and most often neglected parts of the furnace cleaning, the combustion chamber, vent pipe, and chimney base, if applicable, are all inspected and cleaned as necessary. Properly done, it is essential for the efficiency and safe operation of your system.
How should a residential HVAC system be cleaned?
The most effective way to clean air ducts and ventilation system is to employ Source Removal methods of cleaning. This requires a contractor to place the system under negative pressure, through the use of specialized, powerful vacuum. While the vacuum draws air through the system , devices are inserted into the ducts to dislodge any debris that might be stuck to interior surfaces. The debris can then travel down the ducts to the vacuum, which removes it from the system and the home.
What kind of equipment is best for cleaning-Truck-Mounted Vacuums or Portable vacuums?
There are two main types of vacuum collection devices: (1) those mounted on trucks and trailers, and (2) portable units. Truck Trailer mounted equipment is generally more powerful than portable equipment. However, portable equipment can be brought directly into a facility, allowing the vacuum source to be located closer to the ductwork.
A vacuum collection device alone will not get an HVAC system clean. The use of methods and tools designed to agitate debris adhered to the surfaces within the system, in conjunction with the use of the vacuum collection
devices, the following is required to clean HVAC systems. (For example: brushes, air whips and "skipper balls.")
How Long Will it Take? ...
Furnace cleaning can take anywhere between two hours and (in extreme cases) eight hours, depending upon many factors. For example, if your system is small or has been thoroughly cleaned on a regular basis, it probably won't take very long at all. But if you have a large house, or have central air conditioning, or your system needs special attention, it may take longer. There are several other factors as well.
Frequency of cleaning depends on several factors, not the least of which is the preference of the home owner. Some of the things that may lead a homeowner to consider more frequent cleaning include:
* Smokers in the household.
* Pets that shed high amounts of hair and dander.
* Water contamination or danger to the home or HVAC system.
* Residents with allergies or asthma who might benefit from a reduction
in the same amount of indoor air pollutants in the home's HVAC
system.
* After home renovations or remodeling.
* Prior to occupancy of a new home.
